How to take care of your jewelry
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is a metal that can be worn every day. You can keep your silver jewelry in the water, day and night, during your day-to-day activities.
- At the spa or in a swimming pool.
- During housekeeping tasks: Avoid contact with chemicals, such as bleach.
- During training: Avoid pressure, especially on the rings, as they may get distorted.
Oxidation is a natural reaction of silver. Contact with air, humidity and heat creates this brownish layer that you can see on your jewelry. It is recommended that you keep your jewelry in a closed container when you are not wearing it. Normally, oxidation occurs over time, but it can be instantaneous, often because the jewelry has been in contact with some substance or even with the acidity of human sweat (especially during summer).
- Rub with a small, slightly abrasive cloth (linen style) with toothpaste and a little bit of water.
- You can order the polishing cloth that will help give shine to your jewelry.
Gold vermeil (Gold plated)
Gold vermeil jewelry is made of silver and plated with a thick layer of 14-karat gold. The plating is durable but not permanent.
- Never wear your jewelry in the water
- Keep in a closed container when you are not wearing the jewelry.
- If needed, use a polishing cloth and rub softly the jewelry.
Gold
Gold is a fantastic metal that wears very well in everyday life. It can be worn in water, at night, and during daily activities. It is recommended to avoid contact with chemicals such as cleaning products.
- To clean your jewelry, use water and a soft soap and rub gently.
- You can order the polishing cloth that will help give shine to your jewelry.
Pearls
Pearls are made up of organic materials. Therefore, contact with chemicals may alter their surface and luster. It is essential to take care of your pearls since it is not possible to restore them once damaged.
- Remove your pearls when applying (beauty) products to your body. (Ex: creams, perfumes, fixatives, etc.)
- Remove your pearls when you shower/bath or swim (chlorine is a chemical that can alter the appearance of pearls).
- Occasionally, you can delicately clean your pearls with a soft damp cloth. Do not rub vigorously or with a tool such as a brush. Once cleaned, let your jewelry dry and then store it in its case. Remove your pearl jewelry for any physical activity that could damage it. A pearl can crack if too much pressure is applied to it.
